Innovative Collaboration at SaudiPP
About this project
The Saudi Plastics & Petrochem trade fair is the place to be for top players in the plastics and petrochemical sectors. As the 19th edition of this event took place during the Riyadh International Industry Week in Saudi Arabia, it brought together innovative solutions, machinery, and sustainable practices from around the globe. Set to transform the sector with its innovative and eco-friendly practices, Team Hoynck had the privilege of partnering up with the Saudi Arabian division of the Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) for the first time.
Familiar with MSC through previous collaborations in other parts of the world, Team Hoynck intensively worked on several designs for the local division. Aiming to adhere to the company’s branding guidelines while resonating with the local audience and Saudi Arabian culture, the designs also provided adjustments, such as coffee tables that were imprinted with Saudi Arabian icons, VIP areas for special guests and meetings, and fitting furniture.
The respective project was an interesting challenge for Team Hoynck as matters, such as shorter lead times to the event's start, rapid construction periods, and different methods of operation, required the team to take on higher levels of flexibility. Ed Kooymans, Senior Project Manager, pointed out the importance of ensuring quality in every phase of the project. ‘’Being on-site to reassure the client, and solving any emerging issues is of high importance. But understanding the local culture as a European supplier even more’’.
Client
MSC is a global leader in container shipping. Headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, the transportation and shipping company is a trusted partner for numerous companies worldwide. With sustainability at the core of its business, MSC takes responsibility for preserving the planet and people by setting the standard for eco-friendly practices. Granted this project in Saudi Arabia for the first time, MSC and Team Hoynck have already previously collaborated on projects in other parts of the world.
Location
With over 40 years of experience in the Middle East, Team Hoynck has acquired knowledge of the countries here, their working methods, culture, and language. This has positively affected the project, where our team collaborated with the Saudi Arabian division of MSC for the first time. Over the years, significant changes have occurred in the Middle East, such as increased tourism and opening borders to diversify their economies.
